Anecdote

Friends are the ones you can count on. Whether they're making you laugh or simply listening to what you have to say, they're always there.

Once, a certain friend of mine truly made my day. We were at a back-to-school dance, enjoying ourselves (as much as you really can at a school dance).  Sixth and seventh graders are running around, doing all sorts of childish things. We would dance, relax for a second, maybe grab a soda, and continue dancing. All sorts of music popular among us "tweens" was playing in the background. There were teachers and chaperones monitoring everything and making sure it's all "appropriate."

So my friend is doing all sorts of different dance moves.  While doing so, she starts moving towards this one chaperone without knowing it.  Her back was facing this large, tall man.  Eventually, her back side comes in contact with him.  Both of them realized at about the same time. The expression of initial shock on their faces was priceless. Her face quickly grew red with embarrassment.  Then, she apologized hastily and returned to our group. I was too busy cracking up to really comfort her at the moment.  However, being the good sport that she is, she too, was able to laugh it off.

Every now and then, I'll mention it to her and she either laugh or get embarrassed. Overall, my friend learned that you should make sure you have plenty of room to dance and that you should always be conscious of the direction you're moving when you "boogie down."
