Quote:
"Thou shalt not be a victim, thou shalt not be a perpetrator, but, above all, thou shalt not be a bystander." - Yehuda Bauer
This quote is definitely one that applies to bullying. I believe it means that you shouldn't let it happen to you, you shouldn't join in on the problem, but most importantly, you can't watch it happen to others and not speak up. We learned in school that anyone who witnesses bullying and doesn't do anything about it (ie. tell an adult) becomes part of the problem, which only makes it worse.
Bullying Poll:
I would like to thank everyone who took the time to answer the questions about bullying.
About 47 people answered each question. Here are the majorities:
30 voters (63%) claim answered that they have not been a victim of bullying at some point during the school year.
26 people (54%) said that bullying is not an issue at their school.
39 people (63%) claim that most witnesses/bystanders tend to simply ignore bullying when it is happening.
45% or 25 people say that they have seen others bullied this school year.
32 voters (69%) said that they have not yet been bullied this school year.
While I'm glad that the majority of people who voted have not been bullied, I know that we can't forget about the minority. As long as someone is being bullied, it remains an issue that needs to be resolved. If you want to see the full results, go to my homepage and they will be displayed on your right-hand side.

I think that they were trying to explain that if we can't learn from the mistakes we made in the past (the Holocaust), then our generation could have an event, such as a genocide, just as awful as that notorious extermination.

As you examine these pictures, you can see some similarities, which means our generation is making the same mistakes as the previous did. There are several genocides occurring today, most of which are in Africa. If we do not end them, they could grow to be just as horrific as the Holocaust, killing millions of innocent people. That's why we must take action. http://www.stopbashir.org/?rc=stopbashir_e1
